Coco Cay (Cay, here, rhymes with ‘Day’. As in Perfect Day at Coco Cay!) is Royal Caribbean’s private island designed for relaxation and thrills. It’s divided into several zones for beach lounging, water sports, water park fun, and upgraded private experiences. Admission is included with your cruise fare, although some experiences are a paid extra, and trams run to and from the ship(s) all day. The island is split into clear zones, with all different vibes depending on what you fancy!
The island is divided into 5 main areas:
Oasis Lagoon & South Beach - Oasis Lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, with swim-up bars, floating decks, and plenty of lounge chairs. This is such a lush area at the beginning of the day, but can become quite rowdy as the day goes on! South Beach is a stretch of gorgeous white sand to relax and enjoy. There is a brilliant splash pad for the kids too, which our girls loved!
Thrill Waterpark - A high-energy water park featuring the Daredevil’s Tower slides, wave pools, and a massive water playground. Perfect for families and thrill-seekers. The waterpark comes at quite a hefty cost, though, if you want to enjoy it for the day.
Chill Island - Just as it says, designed for relaxation, sunbathing, and scenic views.
Adventure & Sports Area - Includes zip lines, a rock-climbing wall, and more! Water sports rentals like kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkelling are also in this zone.
Coco Beach Club - A premium, adults-only extra area with an infinity pool, upscale cabanas, and fine dining.
Dining
All dining is included with cruise fare unless noted otherwise:
Skipper’s Grill – The main eatery on the island serving delicious tacos, BBQ, burgers and salads.
Chill Grill – Island-style fare, fruits, and desserts
Snack Shack – Quick snacks like chicken sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, and cookies. These mozzarella sticks are insanely good, I lost count of how many portions we had!!
Coco Beach Club Restaurant – Gourmet dining (exclusive access with a fee)
Tips & Tricks
Book Early: Cabanas and waterpark passes sell out quickly so book as soon as you can before your cruise
Bring Towels: Towels are not available on the island unless checked out from the ship, so make sure you pack some in your bag
Use the App: The Royal Caribbean app provides maps, activity schedules, and reservations to make your day easily manageable
Sun Protection: Bring reef-safe sunscreen, hats, and water shoes
Drinks Packages: If you have a drinks package on the ship, this can be used on the island too
