What are the Halloween parties? For those of you who don’t know, these are fun Halloween themed parties which taken place in Magic Kingdom in the months leading up to Halloween. These include reduced crowds (in theory), Halloween overlays on favourite attractions, trick-or-treating throughout the park, free snacks and treats and special character meets.
What dates are the parties on? Opening night is 15th August 2025 and closing night as you might expect is 31st October 2025. Dates are as follows:
August: 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30
September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28 and 30
October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31
Events will run from 7pm - midnight but you can enter the park from 4pm. Likewise if you don’t have tickets, keep these dates/times in mind when planning your day as you’ll need to vacate the park by 7pm!
How much are tickets? Prices have continued to increase over the years and now range from $119 - $229 plus tax. Annual Passholders and DVC members get a token $10 off on select nights only.
What can you expect from this year's party?
The Halloween parties are a really special event that we’ve really enjoyed in the past and made some amazing family memories. They’re also a great way to get some time in Magic Kingdom if you don’t have normal park tickets. Crowds and prices have been increasing in recent years but these remain some of the biggest events of the year at Walt Disney World. We’ve listed below some of the things you can expect from a Halloween party.
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween parade. A classic Disney parade with a fun ‘spooky’ twist. All your favourite characters in their Halloween outfits and a spooky soundtrack that’ll stick in your brain. This usually runs twice an evening.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. An amazing evening firework and lights show with a Halloween twist. Again this usually runs twice an evening.
Trick-or-treating. Stop by the various spots dotted around the park to pick up your free treats. Free trick-or-treat bags are given out on arrival and we’ve literally come home with backpacks full of treats in previous years - one of our kids’ highlights!
Attraction overlays. A selection of attractions have fun Halloween overlays. For example Space Mountain or Mad Tea Party.
Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular. A brilliant stage show hosted by the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus and featuring other classic Disney villains.
Dance Parties. Join in one of the several fun dance parties with some of your favourite Disney characters. Our kids have LOVED these in previous years so make sure not to miss them. This year these include a Disney Junior Jam and a Zombies 4 dance party.
Exclusive character meets. Take the opportunity to meet rare characters and some of your favourites in their special Halloween outfits. Last year this included Jack Skellington, Mirabel & Bruno, Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee, Ariel & Eric, Aladdin & Abu, Moana, Captain Jack Sparrow plus many more. In previous years we’ve also enjoyed seeing Lotso, Tarzan and Stitch in his Elvis costume so you never know who will pop up year-to-year.
Halloween entertainment. Dotted around the park including the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet adding to the ‘spooky’ atmosphere.
Fancy dress. Take the opportunity to come in fancy dress - but check those Disney guidelines first as this is a family event.
Special Halloween treats. Make sure to pick up some special party themed treats around the park. These can be found at select locations around the park. Alternatively book a table at Cinderella’s Royal Table or Be Our Guest if you want a break from the party, or even a Fireworks Dessert Party for an extra fee.
Special Halloween merch. As you might expect Disney has loads of special party themed merch available to buy.
Our top tips
Pick up a party guide and take note of all the special party locations. Better yet try and get a copy online in advance to plan out your evening.
If you have allergies make sure you find a Cast Member to get a special teal bag. You’ll then receive tokens which you can exchange for allergy-friendly treats later in the night.
Don’t worry, this isn’t like Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, this is very Disneyfied and family friendly. We took our kids from a very young age - the only difficulty then is managing their tiredness!
Try and have a nap beforehand so you can make it through to midnight and maximise your time.
The later parades and fireworks shows are generally a little quieter when some of the younger families have gone home.
Character meets can generate massive queues, and even shorter looking queues can take a deceptively long time so choose carefully. (We’ve been scarred from spending hours queueing to meet the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee!)
The queues for the character meets, crowds for the parades and fireworks plus all the rides and treats mean you can’t do everything in one night. Pick a few priorities and focus on these and don’t expect to be able to do everything!
Get into the park early, and get a few rides in as crowds leave prior to 7pm. Then get in line for your first character meet ready for 7pm - this should save you a little time. Some even open before 7pm so try and research in advance as best you can.
Try and eat before 7pm to maximise your time in the party - you don’t want to waste an hour sat eating pizzas when you could be off having fun!
Above all, HAVE FUN! These are one-off expensive events so make the most of it, don’t get too stressed out by crowds and queues and just enjoy yourselves! Head over to our instagram pages if you want to chat or get more advice on our experiences, or search our YouTube channels for videos and vlogs!
