Resort For A Day - Our day in Cozumel
Paradise Falls Family have recently returned from an amazing 2 week Panama Canal cruise aboard the Disney Magic. As part of this trip we were gifted a resort visit by ‘Resort For A Day’ during our port day in Cozumel, Mexico. In today’s post we provide an overview of our day and how a booking with Resort For A Day works.
In the coming weeks we’ll be adding more information to our Youtube channel (Paradise Falls Family) and to the website covering our cruise and our port days so stay tuned for this.
What did we book? Cozumel, an island off the east coast of Mexico, is a wonderful destination and is well geared up for tourists. It’s a popular cruise destination on Western Caribbean itineraries and we’re fortunate enough to have visited the island before on a previous Disney cruise. In that case we arranged an excursion to swim with Dolphins but for our most recent visit we decided to take it easy and enjoy some beach time. We looked into the itineraries on offer from Disney but these didn’t feel great value for money. Therefore we turned to Resort For A Day and were fortunate enough to be gifted a day at the Iberostar Cozumel.
What was included in our package? Our package included access to the luxurious Iberostar Cozumel for the day with access to all the facilities available at the hotel, including access to their beachfront and loungers, swimming pools and an all inclusive buffet lunch. We were able to use hotel towels which made things easier, and it even covered drinks for the day. It meant we could really relax and enjoy some quiet beach and pool time.
How did we spend our day? We arrived at the resort via taxi a little after midday so decided to begin with lunch in the main hotel building. This was an easy buffet lunch with loads of options - great for families and particularly picky kids! The hotel grounds are stunning and have a wonderful shaded lagoon area home to some flamingos. We decided to wander down to the pool for a swim and nabbed the last few loungers to relax and cool off. The pool is a wonderful area - very family friendly yet still relaxing and not too busy or loud. After a couple of hours here we thought we’d finish our day down by the beach which again is a fantastic area under the shade of the palm trees. We even had time to enjoy a bit of snorkelling off of the dock where we found loads of fish - a special end to a special day!
How did it work? We selected our resort package from the range available online and then made sure to print out and bring our tickets with us on the day. Then once we disembarked the ship it was just a case of hopping in a taxi (around $30) for the 25 minute drive down the coast to the resort. All taxis were checked carefully at the gates and we were signed in for the day. Upon check-in we were given wristbands so we could access everything on offer and then we were free to enjoy our day!
Would we recommend Resort For A Day?
Most definitely - when compared to similar resort days or beach excursions available through the cruiselines, these resort packages can be great value. We were really happy with our day at the Iberostar and will definitely be checking out Resort For A Day next time we’re planning our port days.
