Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach is one of two water parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The park features a unique theme of a ski resort that melted into a tropical oasis, blending snowy mountain visuals with classic water park fun. The water parks are such a fun option if you wanted a day away from the main theme parks, but still with lots of fun to be had!

Ticket Info: Separate admission is required, although with the UK Magic tickets admission is included; there is also a current 2025 offer that allows water park entry free of charge on your check-in day when staying on site at a Disney resort. For the first time this year, both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are open simultaneously from May 21st to September 7th for guests to enjoy! Outside of these times, the parks alternate which one is open. 

Attractions & Slides

There is something for all members of the family from thrill rides to gentle lazy rivers. We’ve put together an overview of the attractions on offer below!

  • Thrill Rides

    • Summit Plummet is one of the tallest and fastest body slides in the world with a pretty much vertical 120 ft drop

    • Slush Gusher is a high-speed body slide with smaller dips than Summit Plummet.

    • Downhill Double Dipper is a side-by-side racing tube slides with timers.

  • Family Fun

    • Teamboat Springs: One of the longest family raft rides in the world and so much fun!

    • Runoff Rapids: Three different tube slide experiences of different intensities 

    • Toboggan Racers: Eight-lane mat slide race down a hill.

  • For Kids

    • Tike’s Peak: A mini water park area for toddlers and small children under 48”

    • Ski Patrol Training Camp: For pre-teens and younger kids with zip lines, balance walks, and slides. This is a great area and something that Typhoon Lagoon, the alternative water park, doesn’t have.

  • Relaxation

    • Cross Country Creek: A lazy river circling the park, with tunnels and gentle waterfalls, double, single and kids tubes available at multiple entrance points.

    • Melt-Away Bay: A 1-acre wave pool with gentle bobbing waves, surrounded by sandy beaches.

Dining Options

As with all Disney parks, there are loads of yummy dining options available around the park! 

  • Lottawatta Lodge is the main quick-service restaurant with the standard burgers, wraps, salads.

  • Cooling Hut has snacks, soft drinks, and beer.

  • Avalunch & Warming Hut has your Disney turkey legs, pretzels, and churros.

  • Mini Donuts by Joffrey’s: Fan-favorite sweet treat stand.

Tips for Visiting

  • Arrive Early - Popular slides can have long waits; get there at rope drop if you can. With the current free offer we have heard that the parks are reaching capacity so this is even more important currently!

  • Rent a Locker - These are essential for securing valuables. You can also get lockers that attach to your sun lounger from Amazon!

  • Bring Water Shoes in the summer - The pavement can get hot, and some areas are slippery.

  • Remember Sun Protection - Waterproof sunscreen, hats, and rash guards are necessary. There is a very well stocked shop on site if you forget anything! 

  • Towel Rentals Available - If you are staying in a Disney resort, towel rentals are complimentary. If off site you will need to pay a fee of $2 per person for towels, or bring your own! 

  • Use the Disney App - Check wait times, order food, and find your way around.

Accessibility & Extras

  • Life Jackets are complimentary and available throughout the park.

  • Disability Services - An accessibility guide and assistance is available at Guest Relations.

  • Private Cabanas (Polar Patios): Book in advance for shaded seating, snacks, refillable mugs, towels and a locker. Cabanas can hold up to 10 people, with seating for 6, and cost $375+tax.
